Real McCoy 12 Year Old Bottling Note
Excellent rum from the Barbados-based Foursquare distillery, produced in both copper pot and column stills and matured in heavily-charred bourbon barrels for 12 years. Released as part of the Real McCoy range, this rum boasts notes of dark chocolate and cooked fruit, all wrapped up in mahogany richness.

Tasty and rich
Typical Foursquare, but richer and darker. You can taste both the heavily charred casks and the larger proportion of pot still in the blend, and it's the better for the both.
Lacks the slightly off putting top notes of R L Seale and Rum Sixty Six, and packs a nice long finish.
So far my favourite non ECS Foursquare.

Wonderful Drip
I was lucky where I got this at a discount (I think it was selling at high 40s) so a similar sentiment where £70 quid for this bottle is steep. I personally think anything over £50 and it has to be a real show stopper. That being said this is a really good rum, has a good depth with toffee, chocolate and a warm oak taste to it. It's worth a purchase thats for sure

Very nice very smooth but a little pricey
Another excellent expression that is Foursquare through and through and gives a definite nod to their limited small batch releases although it does fall short in both complexity and taste of the excellent 2007/08 so at pretty much the same price I'd say it's a little over by £10 or so. That said if your pocket allows or you can find it cheaper its definitely worth a try especially if your a foursquare fan.
On the nose you get sweetness but its no molasses bomb plenty of oak hints of tobacco and orange zest and soft spice. I didn't get the stewed fruits or nuts at all and only the vaguest hint of banana and some toffee but as its molasses based why not. There is also the tell tail varnish from the ethanol but let it sit and that fades right out.
The palate is again molasses but not overly so and the oak helps cut through that. The varnish is gone and the tobacco and spice return as well as the orange zest, still no nuts or stewed fruit for me but then my palate isn't as the guys a M of M. I'd say its a good rum for bourbon drinkers the bourbon casks come through but alas no Madera either in the nose the sweetness or the taste and the finish is quite short.
That said its very smooth despite the ABV with plenty going of for an evening sipper and very very drinkable may be a little to drinkable.
Would I recommend? yes, would I buy again, yes but on both begrudgingly at nearly £70
But for the price it would have got another star.
