I have a small bottle of The Old Blend no 619382 Scotch Whiskey of the White Horse Cellar. empty of course, can you tell me anything about it?
1st January 2017
I have one too, opened and tasted, why the hell not? Admiral Vernon's is good but you can't beat the original! It was made to drink.
11th January 2016
Love it and need a bottle
6th January 2016
I still own a bottle of the old stuff! Wonder how much it'll be worth? Is it worth saving or drinking?

If you hark back to when Sailor Jerry was a tasty rum, Asda Caribbean tastes like it. No idea who makes it for them, but it's just like when I first tried SJ about nine years ago.

Can't believe what the Original Sailor Jerry is going for. £125 a bottle the last one sold for makes me not want to ever open my 10 bottles.
25th October 2014
If you like me are a big fan of the original flavour of Sailor Jerry's then you can buy it once again under the name of Old J. I was so happy at this news I brought 3 bottles!

Having recently tried Rebellion Spiced Rum as an alternative to Sailor Jerry I feel this new rum is far better than the original Sailor Jerry, furthermore is made with real vanilla pods and other spices. Why settle for a commercially flavoured Sailor Jerry when you can enjoy something far better. If you ask me Rebellion Rum is even better than the Old Sailor J and Old J....it's worth a try.

right people, the newest sailor jerry's is actually the original recipe that was made. the initial recipe that came to us was made for the European market as it was sweeter. Once sailor jerry's had created a market for there drink they thought they could change the recipe back to the original and still have the following they had, unfortunately for them this back fired a little. Apparently the first sweeter recipe is going to return but if anyone knows rum it does take years to make so we'll have to wait a little longer yet. hope this clears things up a little

There is a reason people are paying so much for the original, wake up Sailor Jerry Company!
16th November 2013
Lets face it, the problem is with the 'new' (not so much anymore, but ah well) recipe, not this beautiful formula! This product needs high ratings, as it's very deserved of it.Save the negativity for the other recipe.
31st October 2013
Black spiced rum for me until they sort it out,may have lost me as a customer too.Bring it back you marketing fools.
29th May 2013
The new stuff has lost me as a customer...until it comes back. This new one also taste thinner if you get me.
Ive put so many people on to the original rum. How could you guys say the new recipe is the product of professional tasters and bartenders? Find a single comment on here that says "i enjoy the new recipe" Oh wait..... NO ONE LIKES THAT GARBAGE rubbing alcohol and all spice. First drinks you make me sick

SJ is spinning in his grave at how his good name is sold out by the company.
17th December 2012
Current sailor jerrys is lovely but when untasted the original oohing compares!!!! If it ain't broke why fix it?!
4th November 2012
New recipe? Spiced p*** more like! And it was changed for corporate greed, not the pallete of its loyal customers!I've just forked out for two of these from ebay at 65 notes apiece, one as a birthday present to meself, t'other to stash away. There's no comparison. Want the old SJ but can't find it? Lamb's Spiced (very close, just a shade more cinamon)or Vernon's Old J (smells the same, tastes just a shade better!)
18th July 2012
I have just bought a bottle of the old recipe off of eBay I cannot wait for that sweet sweet nector. It may have hurt my wallet 80 English pounds for a litre and half but I would gladly have paid more as this drink is that tits
12th March 2012

WHAT DO I HEAR YOU SAY.. THE OLDER THE FIDDLE THE BETTER THE TUNE LOL... WE WANT THE OLD SAILOR FLAVOUR BACK ROOT T TOOT OOT!!!
I THINK THE PEOPLE WHO ARE CHOOSING TO DRINK THE NEWER SAILOR JERRY MUST HAVE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEIR TASTE BUDS!!! LETS FACE IT THE ORIGINAL SAILOR JERRY IS IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN!! COME ON EVERYONE YOU WOULDN'T WEAR PRIMARK IF YOU'D RATHER HAVE PRADA :)
I HAVE RATED THE OLD SAILOR JERRY A 10 SO DONT BE A **** AND BRING IT BACK :)
I RATE THE NEW SAILOR JERRY A BIG FAT 0 AS IT'S RUBBISH !!AS A LANDLADY OF A VERY BUSY BAR MY TAKINGS DROPPED DRAMATICALLY WHEN THE NEW SAILOR JERRY CAME OUT! I PROMOTED THE OLD SAILOR JERRY CONSTANTLY AS I NEW IT WAS IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN! WHY CHANGE IT TO JUST TO FIT IN WITH THE REST :( BRING IT BACK IT WAS THE BEST :)
bring back the old recipe!!!
26th January 2011
How can they call the new recipe orignal, when there are thousands of spiced rums out there but there was only Vanilla & Lime! Sailor Jerry say they don't imitate, they innovate. In that case bring back the old recipe!!! I add 2 vanilla pods & 1 lime, quartered to a bottle of the new stuff. It does improve the taste but it's not like the old stuff.
20th January 2011
i wrote to Sailor Jerry and the response was muted and as a result I boycott the new flavour as is is now just a me too product. The original flavour was perfection and the most palatable drink I have ever tasted. i really miss it and would relish a revival.
20th December 2010
add vanila 2 tea spoons of dark sugar to new recipe and it is impossible to tell them apart
