An interesting expression from Panamanian Rum range Ron Abuelo - a well-aged expression which has been given a finishing period in casks that previously contained Napoleon Cognac! Ought to be a fascinating tipple...
Nose: Melon, pineapple, toasted sugar and cedar, with a touch of smoke to it.
Palate: Dark chocolate and herbal honey, with a little bit of red berry tanginess.
Finish: Dry cacao and cinnamon.

This is an outstanding rum, the flavour is intense with just enough warmth, I wont call it a burn because it’s smoothness defies that description. Obviously the tasting and appreciation of anything is subjective but I’m going to stick my neck out and say this rum is a work of art of the highest calibre, for me it should be a world champion, I’ve not tasted anything as good as Napoleon Cognac Cask Finish ever!
