A Grenadian rum. Not a Grenadine rum. Or a rum made from Grenadiers.
Use to love this rum, last batch I bought in January 2019, totally different in smell and taste, more chemical taste. So disappointed it had lost its authentic taste and smell.
I recommend a visit to the Antoine Estate distillery if you ever visit Grenada, or alternatively view it on YouTube, its a genuine 17th century distillery that makes rum from cane grown locally and then crushed using a waterwheel on site. Love visiting this distillery and buying a bottle direct from the onsite shop. My favourite white rum - and I have tasted lots of rums from around the world! Very strong so try in a long punch.
Visited Rivers distillery 2019. Piles of cane pulp either side of the road as you drive in. Two original wood fired stills. I imagine getting on for 200 yrs old. I found the rum quite smooth, fruity, and you can taste the sugar cane. One of the best!
Were given a bottle by a friend. It had a strong chemical taste. Undrinkable! Poured it down the drain.
Very nice rum, why is it suitable for travelling with an alcohol volume of 69% and Wray and nephew rum which is of the same alcohol volume is not suitable for taking abroad I would like your comments please
