This is a delicious dark rum from Nicaragua, distilled there in column stills in 2001, after quite a short fermentation. It was then matured in bourbon casks and finished in Cognac casks before bottling for the Plantation range.
Nose: Buttery, spicy nose with hints of cooked fruit and allspice.
Palate: Rich and intense with Demerara sugar, hints of smoke, banana chips and nutmeg.
Finish: Burnt sugar and spice.
Overall: A deliciously rich rum with a gorgeously smoky flavour.
