This 15 year old is created by 'repeatedly' blending the rums and aguardientes and maturing them in old oak barrels. Havana Club's Primer Maestro Ronero, Don José Navarro, describes this as "Cuban rum's great classic".
Honeyed and fruity. Peppery spice, floral.
Full, rich, dried, dark fruits. Dates and apples.
Something tropical with a little dark brown sugar and spice.
This is a fine rum. Amazingly it was available for free at our all inclusive resort in Varadero. I was amazed to see that it was $240 at the airport shop
It’s the best I’ve ever tasted, hands down. Period. I don’t know why I can’t get it in Canada. I’ve been trying for years. I can get every other HC except for that.
The best of the best
Don't understand the pricing mentioned by a few below. $3, $50??? Are they commenting on an entirely different Rum? There are other HC Rums that sell for CUC3-CUC50. But not the HC 15YO. In Cuba HC 15YO costs CUC150 (USD$150), one person got the price right.
One of the best if not the best around. Even in Cuba the price is going up to purchase it, no longer the $3.00 mentioned, more like $50.00 now
