After many years of ageing in Colombia, this 1978 vintage rum from Dictador was transferred to old Limousin oak casks which previously held Hardy Cognac for a two month finish. It was released as part of the 2 Masters series, and each bottle bears the fingerprints of the master who played a part in creating the liquid. This bottle has the fingerprints of Hernan Parra, Dictador master blender, and Mickaël Bouilly, Hardy Cognac cellar master. Just 360 bottles were produced at 41% ABV.
A lot of sweetness, with raisins, dates, tobacco, leather. The palate is simultaneously sweet and dry, very leathery, tobacco, bitter tea, and a finish with dark chocolate, dried fruits and nuts.
