This is a delicious Guyana rum from Banks DIH, made by ageing spirit in bourbon casks for at least a decade. The rum is then finished in sherry casks for six months before bottling.
Nose: Marmalade and allspice. Hints of dried coconut, gingernut biscuits and molasses. Boiled sweets and tropical fruit.
Palate: Fruity, honeyed palate entry with notes of dried bananas and passion fruit. Hints of creamy vanilla custard and marmalade.
Finish: Peppery, ginger-rich finish.
Overall: Very intense and complex.

This could quite easily cause whisky drinkers,to have maybe,a more open mindedness when it comes to rum,this particular rum has great depth with lot's of different palatable flavours, in my opinion there's a definite smokiness a move on dark chocolate with subtle undertones of vanilla,the finish is amazingly long,Great alternative.

After drinking the 5 year old by this same producer, I was very eager to try this 10 year old gem! It is simply amazing, and to me, best enjoyed neat. On the nose, there is a lot of sweetness, particularly orange peel and vanilla, along with a slightly syrup aroma. In the mouth, there is an initial sweetness of caramel and honey, followed by a light to medium punch of spice (ginger). The aftertaste is warm and lingers fairly long! I cannot wait to try the 12 year and 15 year olds!
