Cocktails can be a bit of faff. It's always more fun when there's someone making one for you. Well, now you can have all the sophistication of a proper cocktail bar in the comfort of your own home with Benjamin & Blum ready-mixed cocktails. This one, the Aviation, was invented by Hugo Ensslin, head bartender at the Hotel Wallick in New York, in the early twentieth century and named after those magnificent men and women in their flying machines. It gets its trademark colour from liqueur de violette. The other ingredients are British craft gin, maraschino, lemon, and white tea. Serve very cold in a martini glass with a squeeze of fresh lemon and an anecdote about Amelia Earhart.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Yes it's another take on a martini so expect lots of big ginny flavours with the violet, lemon, cherry and tea bouncing off and harmonising with the other botanicals.
