Chateau Beaulon 1970s Bottling Note

This beautiful looking bottling is a Pineau des Charentes, a regional French aperitif made using either a blend of lightly fermented grape must or fresh, unfermented grape juice, to which a Cognac eau-de-vie is added before it is matured.

This edition dates back to the 1970s, when was aged for 10 years before it was released. It is from the Chateau Beaulon, a castle built circa 1480 as a residence for the Bishops of Bordeaux in the town of Saint Dizant du Gua. There's history everywhere in this bottling.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
