Evan Williams Honey Reserve Reviews

As sweet as honey, an easy drinker

A lovely easy drinking bourbon, goes down a bit too well.

A really sweet finish, there’s no subtle hints of honey here, it’s a good hit of sweetness.

Lovely neat and pairs well with a lot of things. Particularly enjoying the pairing of fevertree clementine tonic at the moment.

It's a Liqueur Chris. . .

We stock this in our bar for those who have 'THE FEAR'. By no means does this compare to something like a single barrel bourbon (which Evan Williams produce), it is a different beast. We stick with this as it's a great price point, good intro and tastes better than a lot of the other honey expressions out there.

Chris' Review

Pure acacia honey aromas. Slightly sweet and floral with ginger and tangerine over riding any Bourbon character, although it does come back with hints of vanilla, coffee and liquorice.

The palate is very sweet. A mixture of acacia and natural opaque honey. Mouth coating and candied with hints of tangerine and violets. The spirit however doesn’t come through enough to balance the confected character and as such the finish is a bit cloying. Maybe an extra 5% abv might have helped.
