Southern Comfort 1980s
A 1980s bottling of popular whiskey liqueur Southern Comfort made with peaches, spices and herbs. At 43%, it is significantly stronger than today's 35% incarnation.
bad advice from Souther Comfort Rep
had a bottle from 1980's, called all Liqueur stores in my area of NC and Ct, they couldn't tell me if it was still good, wrote to Southern Comfort web site with my inquiry, this was there response: if your bottle was not opened and stored properly in a cool, dark space it would have a shelf life of 18-24 months, since my bottle was over 20yrs. old, it was no longer good for consumption....stupidly, it was poured down the drain....now I did some research and found this web site....I am so upset with myself for discarding this and with the poor advice from Southern Comfort.....I inherited my Fathers estate with a full bar of many unopened bottles from the 1960's on....I will be more aware now before discarding.....

Is this light color ok?
Got one of these, but the color is unusually light, even slightly lighter than in your picture. Is that all right or something happened to the drink?
