Hampshire Navy Strength Bottling Note

Navy Strength Gin from the Winchester Distillery's Hampshire Gin range, created using an interesting combination of sea buckthron and gunpowder tea alongside the classic juniper. Gunpowder will still ignite if spilled over gunpowder if it's 57% (or so the story goes), which is why spirits were often that strength when taken on Naval ships, and this is where the Navy Strength terminology comes from. Using gunpowder tea is a neat connection these Hampshire-based distillers have made. Kudos.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

A hearty core of spicy juniper is complemented by the bitter though creamy tea.

Hampshire Navy Strength Gunpowder Gin Reviews

Excellent gin great on its own

Best gin I’ve ever tasted and I’ve tried most of them, so smooth you do not require a mixer.

Very smooth

Surprisingly smooth and easy to drink for such a high strength gin, dangerous stuff!
