Kilmahew Gin

Kilmahew Gin Bottling Note

A collaborative gin from The Glasgow Distillery Co., NVA and Stand, made to raise funds for the restoration of St Peter's Seminary. The selection of botanicals is made to reflect the plants growing in the Kilmahew woods: bramble leaf, rosehip and orange peel (along with juniper).

Now, we know what you're thinking. "Oranges? In the west of Scotland?! I call shenanigans. Shenanigans!" You right. They don't. However, the use of orange is a reference to John Fleming, the first gardener of the estate's Walled Garden. He installed greenhouses to grow citrus fruits, including oranges.

Only 1,000 bottles of Kilmahew Gin, with all the profits being donated to the St. Peter's restoration project.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Fragrant and floral at first. Quite earthy, though balancing sweetness of fresh fruit keeps it in check.
