That Boutique-y Gin Company is back with another awesome bottling, and for A Tale of Two Towns Gin it brought together the bartenders of Edinburgh! They created a gin inspired by the Scottish capital, with the botanicals they chose including shortbread, raspberries, lime cordial, lovage and carrot. They even had a hand in naming the gin and designing the label. What's with the name? Edinburgh is made up of Old Town and New Town, with the label showing mixture of modern tourists, old time-y folk with swords and even a few skeletons having a cocktail party in Edinburgh's famous dungeons. Garnish this one in a G&T with a slice of grapefruit, or try in in a Gin Highball!
Behind the initial floral aromas there's vanilla biscuity notes and a good helping of bright lime citrus to bring balance, with a sweet and earthy backbone, underpinned by spicy juniper.
More zingy lime straight off, followed by a slightly creamy note, think lemon and coconut cake mixture, with just a touch of hoppy bitterness.
A herbal finish balanced by a touch of carrot cake sweetness, with a hit of spice which quickly fades.
