Kongsgaard Dark Gin Bottling Note
An exquisite cask-aged gin from Denmark! The folks at Kongsgaard use an open flame Cognac still to make its delicious gin, produced with a host of botanicals inspired by the forest. The likes of juniper, ginger, coriander seed, tiger nuts, galangal, liquorice root, and whole fresh lemons, along with locally sourced Danish apples combine with superb complexity. This expression sees the Cognac influence taken even further, having spent 18 months resting in French Limousin oak Cognac casks, resulting in generous waves of creamy vanilla and soft spice. For this limited edition 350ml bottle, the label has been printed on real wood, which is a rather pleasing touch.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Sweet wafts of floral vanilla and crisp juniper mingle, bolstered by bold richly toasted oak, and aromatic charred spices.
