Highclere Castle Gin

A London Dry gin from Highclere Castle (which you may recognise from Downton Abbey!), produced in what is said to be England's oldest gin distillery, with stills dating back to the 1800s. Juniper has grown on the site since the days of the Romans, so it's almost like gin was destined to be made here. The botanicals are influenced by the castle's garden, including juniper, lime flower, orange peel, lavender and estate-grown oats. The result is a classic gin that shines simply with tonic and a wedge of lime, though it's not too shabby in a Martini, either.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

A strong juniper backbone surrounded by delicate floral notes, fragrant and sweet citrus, fading into a creamy finish.

Reviews for Highclere Castle London Dry Gin
Overpowering calpol taste
Crudly constructed recipe with overpowering and conflicting flavours.

Much better options out there. Avoid.

Highclere is the smoothest gin ever
Highclere Castle Gin is the only gin we drink. It is so smooth and goes with every mixer. Best served on ice with rosemary and orange peel

I would not recommend
After opening the bottle the fragrance it gives right off is that of my dads old Vitalis. The taste I am immediately hit by is the lavender which gives it a very medicinal flavour. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best. I give this gin a 4.

The gin that made me fall in love with gin
Summer in a bottle. Refreshing taste, paired gorgeously with tonic, ice, a squeeze and slice of orange. Perfect gift for a gin lover

I didn't like gin in the past, now Highclere Castle Gin is all I drink! And probably too often! Wonderful spirit for the soul.

First gin I've enjoyed on the rocks. Great in cocktails too!
This is a well balanced, delicious gin. I enjoyed this on the rocks as well as in traditional cocktail recipes. Well done!
