Hendrick's Orbium Gin

Hendrick's Orbium is what's known as a quininated gin, as it was distilled with additional extracts of quinine, wormwood and blue lotus blossom. Created by the legendary master distiller, Lesley Gracie, Orbium contains the same base distillates as Hendrick’s and is made in batches of just 500 litres.

The name Orbium derives from the word ‘orb’, the plural of Orbis and Latin for circle. Gracie felt this circular symbol represented the gin’s rounded character, and the ‘all seeing eye’ on the bottle design mirrors this theme.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Floral lotus and a woody quinine bitterness balance beautifully against bright juniper and lemon zest.

Palate Herbaceous coriander, a flash of tart citrus and a helping of that trademark cucumber bring depth and complexity to the prominent sweet floral tones. Bitter bark notes fill the backdrop.

Finish Earthy wormwood, dried grass and piney juniper bring Orbium to a close.

Overall A real departure for Hendrick's, Orbium is a worthy experiment. Distinct and delicious.

Reviews for Hendrick's Orbium Gin
Orbium is the best blend!
Orbium is by far my most favorite of Hendricks Limited Editions. I wish it would come back or be a regular menu gin. The blue lotus and Absinthe...what a great combo. Has a spicy and smooth taste but also a beautiful relaxing after effect.

This is very good.
Very intense, sharp, zingy and almost lemon grassy and then some final bitter earthy notes but NOT a gimmicky flavoured gin. It still tastes like gin gin, not of some flavouring. This is a compliment.
Great for tonic as it has enough character to withstand it. Makes a martini with character and impact. Recommended.
