Firkin Gin - Batch 4 Bottling Note

A cask aged gin from Gleann Mór that uses different ex-whisky casks for each batch! The cask used for Batch 4 previously held peated whisky from Islay - a 10 year old Lagavulin to be precise. Each batch is made up of around 250 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Juniper and coriander with American oak toastiness as well as a first hint of iodine left by the previous occupant.

Palate: More coriander, merging with Laga smoke - spicy seaweed, green juniper and citrus.

Finish: Peppery and slightly honeyed with angelica and a final wisp of smoke.

Firkin Gin - Batch 4 Reviews

Very disappointed. Had read it was a sipping gin but after one sip headed for the tonic then the fruit basket for the lime then orange and anything else to bring the gin out. overriding whisky, too long in the barrel.
