    Refreshingly delicate!

Tried this for the first time yesterday, served with Fever Tree tonic, a little ice and a slice of orange - as recommended by the bar tender. For me, this is the best gin I've tasted, not too dissimilar to Hendrick's with its 'herbie notes', but a little more delicate. Absolutely gorgeous, albeit pricey.

    Malta Gin Tastings

we recently sampled Gin Mare in Valletta (several times!) & it was served with lots of ice in a Gin Mare special glass & with a sprig of rosemary. It was very good & a change from Hendricks or Tanquery both of which we are rather fond.

    Tale of two gins

I love a G&T, but Gin Mare's herbal note was, for me, overpowering. I use a couple of neutral tonics and this seemed to amplified the soapy aspect of the flavour. I gave it another chance weeks later, as I had bought the bottle, and still not to my taste.
I then had an epiphany...cocktails! They tasted fantastic. I especially liked it in a simple gin and orange juice. Stunning. Tale of two gins

    Really Enjoyable

I was given a bottle of Gin Mare and found it to be so smooth and aromatic. Gin is my usual drink and I only like Gordons, but if it was not so expensive I would drink this instead.

If you like gin to taste of gin don't bother with this - it's far too delicate for mixing (even a decent tonic an slice of lime obliterates it), and if you drink it neat or in a Martini then it doesn't taste like gin.
In fact, I doubt it meets EU regs which define gin as follows..."In all types of gin, the predominant flavour of must be juniper...".
he Chaps at Masters of Malt don't know what they're are doing frankly, given the hopelessly inaccurate notes above. Stick to whisky, chaps.

    The Best

This is the Gin that gets put in my basket at the airport duty free. This is my absolute favourite and so very unique. Ideal with ice, tonic and a sprig of basil.

    Something delighfully diferent

Gives of a wonderful aroma just sitting in your glass. I think this carries enough of it's own flavours without adding. Jus a little slim line for me.

Getting a bottle on the advice of a friend of mine, will write back. Got to say 'Gin Connoisseur' might not be the right title to the person below me if you write of most British gins!

    Gin connoisseur

We were introduced to Gin Mare by the bartender at Hotel Arts (Ritz Carlton) in Barcelona in early July 2014. In a Martini it is served with a lemon twist and fresh basil leaf, accentuating its basil botanical and slight citrus flavor. In a gin and tonic, Gin Mare is served with Fever Tree tonic from the USA, a leaf of fresh basil and fresh lemon or lime at your request. It is 42.5% alcohol (85 proof) but very smooth and refreshing. Unlike most Gins with the over powering Juniper oil used as a botanical, Gin Mare does not smell or taste like any other Gin I have tasted. It is quite refreshing, and light. It certainly is a huge improvement over US and most British Gins. Hendricks Gin, with its cucumber botanical essence is a close rival but not as smooth or refreshing as Gin Mare. Truly an outstanding Gin product.

It is very good and very different. We all expect gin to have juniper flavours, but that doesn't really need to be the case. This is lovely and refreshing and would make a nice G&T. As far as the price goes, it is high, but judging by the bottle, it seems they are going for an up-scale market. £30 would be about right for this.

Very underwhelming, non-descript and hugely overpriced

Brought some back from Spain and was really excited about it. Sadly, I honestly wouldn't know this wasn't Gordon's.

    Great idea, but mm

Great idea, great combination - lacking a bit of balance though when you look a price tag

    13th April 2014

Possibly the best gin in the extended universe

This is stunning stuff. Highly recommended. Gin will never be the same again. Enjoy with a fresh spring of rosemary and a splash of tonic and lots of ice.

    Unique but delicious!

This was recommended at Rubi's Gin Bar in Barcelona when we asked for something a 'bit different'. It is very tasty with the Thyme and Rosemary coming through, thus making it a great drink with lamb or beef.
