Northmoor Gin Bottling Note

Northmoor Gin comes to us from the Exmoor Distillery. The juniper berry has been put right to the fore of this gin, and is supported by angelica, citrus and spices - though the aromatic juniper is very much in centre stage. The distillery is a family-run business, sitting on the the beautiful Exmoor National Park.

Northmoor Gin Reviews

Awful! By far the worst gin I’ve ever tried. It has an almost metallic chemical taste to it, not a good flavour at all. Don’t waste your money.

At last a rich smooth gin that TASTES LIKE GIN.

Since moving to Devon, we have been working our way through the local gins. We have had subtle blends of this, authentic mixes of that and delicate nuances of something else. All really lovely and enjoyable. BUT, the reason we like gin is because we like the flavour of gin. We absolutely loved Northmoor because it's beautifully smooth and it is proud to taste like GIN. The juniper is what gin should taste of, and this is pure juniper delight.

This gin is amazing. We found it when at Exmoor. Just the best gin and quite a wintery taste. I buy a bottle thinking it will last but, it doesn’t!! 🤭

We bought this after our weekend away at Northmoor House. It is hands down my absolutely favourite gin and now I’ve got to get some more because it was drunk rather quickly!!

Overpowering spice!

Sadly unimpressed with this gin as the black pepper and other spices completely over power the other flavours!

Fantastic. A must if you like a quality traditional G&T

I was luck enough to visit Exmoor Distillery recently when on holiday on Exmoor. With so many new geeky type Gins on the market it is refreshing to find a traditional pot distilled Gin with a flavour all of its own. It was fascinating to see how its made and I had an unplanned but very informative tour around this small Distillery by John the owner and distiller. Northmoor Gin has unique flavour, well balanced, complex and earthy. The juniper is to the fore but there follows a wonderful flavour which lingers on the pallet. This is not a Gin that needs to be played with or propped up by flavour tonics or unusual garnish. If you like a traditional G&T with real quality then this is one to try. I don't see it on here but they also do a Navy Strength Gin which is different again but of equal quality.

Best gin I've ever tasted!

I saw an advert for this gin in the Guardian Newspaper last week so purchased a bottle from my favourite masters of malt. loved the branding and have stayed around Exmoor on holiday over the years. Quick delivery as usual and packaged well.

Anyway on to the gin - What can I say, this is now my tipple of choice. A smooth gin over ice, but with a dash of tonic and some blood orange it tasted great. My wife who doesn't drink gin also liked it. Will definitely be popping in to see these guys when next around Exmoor.

Oh no!!!!!!

Bought this after reading the reviews, not sure what the others are tasting, it’s not that smooth at all there is a musty smell to the Gin and the cinnamon overpowers. Afraid I will not be buying again. Will stick with my Salcombe Gin.

Stunning! G&T has long been my pre-dinner drink of choice, (long before the current trend) and this gin is now my firm favourite. Unlike many of the new, "trendy" offerings which rely on gimmicky, quirky often fruit flavours, this gin relies on a sublime blend of aromatics blended to perfection. The result is a truly fabulous, classically styled gin which really packs a punch of irresistible flavour. No fussy flavoured tonics required, just a super quality, classic tonic such as Fever Tree will see this gin paired to perfection. With so many new gins on the market, this one really does stand head and shoulders above the rest.
