LoneWolf Gin

LoneWolf Gin Bottling Note

BrewDog's LoneWolf Gin packs a hefty juniper bite (geddit? Bite? Wolf? We have fun.) alongside a selection of punchy botanicals, which include Scots pine, lavender flower, fresh grapefruit peel and more. Great stuff for a Martini, we reckon.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

A creamy mouthfeel carries hot spices and oily juniper, with a deftly balancing citrus influence. Dig a little deeper and the earthy-though-refreshing notes of lemongrass and lime leaf take control.

Reviews for LoneWolf Gin
O.K. if you like pine...
This gin is smooth enough, but the flavour of pine is too strong. As opposed to a light taste of pine, there is instead an almost overpowering, strong pine taste, which some will like but many will not.

Brewdog: Taking over the Gin Market?
For people who aren't used to non-standard gin, this is a great change to your tranditional Gordons or Bombay, but not too different that it turns you off trying new gins. This Brewdog (traditionally beer brewers) gin has a clean and bold flavour, pairs excellently with a Fever Tree mediterranean or premium. Not going to go into the notes but it's peppery and lavendery. A great winter Gin in my opinion. Very Scottish. Like Brewdog are.

Unusual, not in a bad way
Getting a bit of juniper, a lot of pine and lavender. Quite a bit of turpentine, I really like it’s boldness. Definitely gin but not as we know it. Ok for G and T with a small measure of gin and lots of tonic. Better with aromatic tonic. It is a game changer.

Maybe not for traditional gin lovers
Tasted more like Vodka flavoured up with Seville orange peel, lavender and pine resin. Not for me. Sorry.

Definitely not awful but i’m not left wanting more
Just as the lone wolf crouches like a gargoyle amidst the blackened pines, so the peppery overtones of this fragrant gin crouch in anticipation, ready to pounce as soon as your lips tickle the glass. Pungent at first, the flavours give way to an enchanting blend of floral lavender and surreptitious pine. An acquired taste.

Refreshing gin
Disliked my first taste, but the flavour grew on me, and it is now one of my favourite gins. Love it with fever tree Mediterranean tonic.

The best reasonably priced gin there is
Out of my collection of gins this is my favourite, a lovely balance and the lemongrass brings the whole thing together.

Great gin, shame about the bottle
My tasting notes say "Ozone, spearmint; white marshmallows; warm, spicy, citrus; clean, full, crisp." and it got 5* (out of 5). So basically, I love this gin. I agree with the post that liked Lone Wolf's premix G&T; there's a roadside stop on the A12 where we always buy a can for whoever is not driving home.
I was very sad when they changed the bottle - the old style label held on by the big laggy band was the most distinctive on the gin shelf and the new blue graphic wolf is just boring and like all the rest. Still, the gin is what counts.

Cardamom notes
I like this very much. I would say a strong cardamom note and a little heat too. Very pleasing (to me at least!).

Balance of flavours is not right
I don’t think this works at all, one flavour is too dominant and that is pine. Like suckling a pine cone.
