A big ol' magnum bottle of Bathtub Old Tom! Geddit? "Big" because it's a 1.5 litre bottling, and "ol'" because it's an Old Tom Gin. We crack ourselves up. Anyway, yes, a marvellous Old Tom Gin here from the Ableforth's Bathtub Gin range, created to match the style of gin that was very popular all the way back in 18th and 19th century England. Its slightly sweetened flavour profile makes it a great choice for all manner of classic cocktails – we're particularly fond of enjoying it in a Martinez...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: This is fruity and sweet on the nose with pronounced botanical notes. There is a good citrus element to it too.

Palate: The light sweetness seems to add body to this, and helps develop some of the juniper and orange flavours.

Finish: Clean with a touch of pepper.

Overall: A great gin that not only makes a great G&T (the additional body works wonders) but will make a fantastic Martinez... In fact it's the obvious ingredient for any classic gin cocktail that requires a hint of sweetness.
