Buckfast Bottling Note

The recipe for Buckfast Tonic Wine was brought to England by French monks during the 1880s. Buckfast is a red wine based aperitif with a high caffeine content, and the drink is sometimes known as "Buckie".

An underated gem

I have been enjoying Buckfast for over 50 years and find that a small tipple of Buckfast in the evening is an invaluable aid to my digestion.

I'm disgusted to read the horrid stories about Buckfast in the press, and find it a shame that it's reputation has been tainted.

nice

given the fact that when you first taste this wine you dislike it.then it grows on you.ive been drinking this on and off for 8 years and although theres a lot of controversy behind the drink.i wouldnt imagine even a quarter of its sales are purchased by NEDs and criminals.politicians in england assume that if buckfast was banned crime would drop which simply is not the case.a popular raturant in glasgow uses buckfast to make suflet. and apparantly there is a huge demand for this in australia.marks out of ten = 5 purely because you need to let this grow on you.
