Capreolus Dessert Plum Bottling Note

Plum eau de vie from the Capreolus Distillery, made using Victoria, Opal and Reeves Seedling plum. The plums were lightly crushed then fermented, and then filtered so none of the stones got into the still before being double distilled.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Up-front juicy fruit, with a little bit of almond and peppery spice.

Capreolus Dessert Plum Eau de Vie 2015 Reviews

Very very young, and it shows

Far too much of an alcoholic burn - any plum flavour is overpowered

Disappointing.

There's a decent spirit to be found, but only after getting past a rather harsh nose and entry. The harshness is too strong, and overwhelms the palate for the most part. It takes some getting used to before you're able to detect the subtler more pleasant aspects of the spirit.
