The Spirit of Garstang is a family-run business that creates artisan gin and rum in the world’s first Fair Trade Town of Garstang, Lancashire. Seeking to embody the spirit of the place it's made, all the gin is distilled with sustainably sourced botanicals.
The brand also produces Swift Nick rum. Its premium range honours family member John ‘Swift Nick’ Nevison, The Glamorous Highwayman who lived from 1639-1684. Seen as a Robin Hood-style figure, he never used violence against his victims and is most famous for creating an incredible alibi. Nevison galloped 200 miles from Gad’s Hill in Kent to York in a single day to ensure he wouldn't be convicted for an earlier robbery. He made sure he was seen conversing with the Lord Mayor of York, no less, and this alibi led to his acquittal and his nickname, supposedly given by King Charles II.
