The Brontë Liqueur begins its story in Paraguay in the late 1960s. Sir James Aykroyd stumbled across Brontë Liqueur in a bar, and even after 40 years passed, he did not forget about this liqueur. When the opportunity arose to purchase the trademark for the drink, Sir James stepped down from his role as chairman and shareholder of Speyside Distillery to develop Brontë Liqueur. Oh, and yes, it is of course named after the famous family of writers who created such works as Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights and Agnes Grey.
