A group of vodka enthusiasts spent years travelling and tasting before finally finding a base in 2010 in Lviv, Ukraine. Here, Staritsky Levitsky distillery was founded. The reason for settling in this particular place is that it is close to the Carpathian mountains, and with the mountains comes a constant flow of crystal clear water. Additionally, the distillery can take advantage of Ukraine’s black soil and the unique grains it produces. Oh, and last but not least, Ukraine has a vodka-distilling history that dates back more than a century. That may have something to do with it.
The mission is to revive historical traditions through creating a product for vodka enthusiasts just like those who founded the distillery. The brand was named after Ukrainian cultural icons, Mr. Staritsky, a cultural leader, and Mr. Levitsky, an entrepreneur, whose meetings were known for top quality vodka.
