Royal Salute Whisky

Royal Salute was launched by Chivas Brothers on 2 June 1953 in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on the day of her coronation as a luxury Scotch whisky brand. It takes its name from the traditional 21-gun salute and fittingly, Royal Salute whiskey are aged for a minimum of 21 years.

This prestige whisky is distilled at the legendary Strathisla Distillery, which is now Chivas Brothers primary operating centre, but was originally founded in 1786 and holds the incredible distinction of being the oldest working distillery in the Highlands of Scotland.

Over the years, Royal Salute whisky has been launched to commemorate numerous occasions regarding the monarchy, including a 50 Year Old that marked Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee in 2002, Royal Salute 21 Year Old - The Diamond Tribute, a blend made for the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II's coronation and The Royal Salute Age Collection, a limited edition set of 10 blended Scotch whiskies that celebrated the Queen becoming the longest reigning British monarch in 2015. Numerous other bottlings such as the 62 Gun Salute, the Royal Salute 38 Year Old - Stone of Destiny and the Royal Salute 32 Year Old - Union of the Crowns have also been released to champion aspects of regality, always stunningly presented and containing the most opulent of blends.

A whisky brand that aims for the very height of sophistication with every offering, the mantra of Royal Salute is ‘begin where other whiskies end’. With so many stately bottlings available right here, the only trouble you’ll have is deciding where you should begin!
