Started by father and son team Cameron Healy and Spoon Khalsa, Kona Brewing Company began with the intention to create fresh, local island brews inspired a love of Hawaii, and a desire to protect the pristine environment there.
The primary distillery is based in Kailua-Kona on Hawaii's Big Island, and produces more than 12,000 barrels of beer annually. The majority of Kona’s bottled beer and mainland draft beer, however, is made in Portland, Oregon, and Portsmouth, New Hampshire as part of a partnership with Craft Brew Alliance Inc.
Approximately 13 styles brewed on a regular basis, including Big Wave Golden Ale, and Fire Rock Pale Ale and Longboard Island Lager, and these beers are being widely distributed across 26 countries, throughout Hawaii and all 50 states in the United States.
Kona Brewing Company is now the fifth-largest U.S. craft brewer and the top selling craft beer company in the islands - kamau ki`aha!
