The story of Scottish brewery Harviestoun begins in the 1980s, with Ken Brooker brewing beers in his shed for his friends to taste. Soon enough, in 1986, Ken started work on his own brewery in Dollar, which would be where some of their most well-known beers would be first brewed, including their Bitter & Twisted and Old Engine Oil. In 2003, the 200 year old farm where Harviestoun made their home just wasn’t big enough, so they moved a few miles down the road and built a brand new brewhouse! In 2007, Harviestoun teamed up with Highland Park to create a fantastic series of cask-aged beers called Ola Dubh, made by ageing their Old Engine Oil in Highland Park casks - it’s ace. Try it. Go on.
