Bols

One of, if not THE oldest distilled spirits brands in the world, Bols dates back to 1575 when the Bols family established their distillery in Amsterdam. In 1652, Lucas Bols was born - he’s the chap whose portrait you’ll see on many of Bols’ bottles, as he helped the distillery grow and prosper in 17th century Amsterdam. The city was a huge trading hub back in the 17th century, with loads of great ingredients passing through their, meaning Bols had a lot to work with. The company has survived to this day, with countless drinks under its belt, including a kaleidoscope of liqueur flavours, genever (which they began distilling in 1664 and recently reintroduced in 2008), gin, vodka and more. Bols celebrated their 440th birthday in 2015.
