Alnwick Brewery

The Alnwick Brewery Company returned to the area in 2018, after it had shut down in the late 1900s. It traces its origins back to the 1840s to Thompson & Davidson’s, which was appointed as the brewer to the Duke of Northumberland. It became incorporated in 1890, formally adopting the name The Alnwick Brewery Company Limited (ABC). ABC was later acquired by Drybroughs, but it was under its ownership that the brand closed.

ABC was brought back, however, firstly in name in 2003 by Ian Linsley, the son of the former director. In May 2018, the brand finally found a new home at Hawkhill, with Phil Bell heading a team of seven employees.
