Kiwi Wine

Sauvignon, Pinot Noir. Have we missed anything? Well, yes, actually - New Zealand's wine production has come on leaps and bounds in the last decade or so, fuelled no doubt by the enormous influx of export revenue generated by the Sauvignon flurry of the 'noughties'. Some superb examples of Riesling, Pinot Gris, even Cabernet can be found in these shores. Worth seeking out if you can.

Great value Kiwi chardonnay from Auckland, this offers a very fruit nose with apples, nectarines and fresh flowers, which develop on the palate with a hint of citrus fruit.  More info
A Hawkes Bay Pinot Noir with lovely tannins, and a silken, fruity palate. Great as an accompaniment to dishes with game. 100% malo lactic fermentation, aged for nine months in French oak.  More info
