For hundreds of years, England has produced beers of all shapes and sizes to suit all flavour profiles. Beer was one of the most common drinks during the Middle Ages, and continues to be one of the most popular in England to this day. Many styles loved worldwide originate or have incredibly close ties to England, including the hop-fuelled IPA, the rich, chocolatey Porter, the flavoursome Dark Ales, the public-house-favourite Bitter and the balanced marvel that is a pint of Mild, among others.
England is home to breweries both big and small, from producers of beers enjoyed the world over to microbreweries producing only small runs of intricately considered craft ales.
