While English whisky first lay down the roots of its rebirth with the founding of the Norfolk-based distillery St George’s Well and its single malt in 2006, the story of English blended whisky began a touch later.
It was The Lakes Distillery in Cumbria that began this story, which opened in 2014. Taking on many iterations is The One, a blended whisky featuring The Lakes' own English single malt at its heart, alongside single malt and grain whiskies from Scotland. Since then, many English blends have followed from distilleries across the country – Cornwall's Pocketful of Stones, London's East London Liquor Company, and Southwold's Adnams distillery, to name a few.
