Produced by the legendary Cognac house Audry, Memorial is a Fine Champagne brandy - a blend of spirit from the premier Grande and Petite Champagne region. In this case, it is a 60:40 blend of Grande to Petite.
Nose: Rich, spicy nose with hints of allspice, red pepper, apple peel and cigar leaves.
Palate: Cedar wood and mixed spices. Honey, toffee apples and hints of truffle. A little black pepper and dried apricot.
Finish: Long, robust finish.
Overall: A classy, elegant brandy.

BMW may be the ultimate driving machine. The Maybach or RR may be the the most luxurious automobile in the world; nevertheless, like a Yugo or a Tata, they are 'cars'. However fine an armagnac or cognac may be, they are brandies. No arrogance or ignorance stating the very basic, elementary, simple fact.Going back to Audry. This is an amazing cognac. Complex flavors with distinct signs of rancio. Huge burst of flavors shooting up the nose, and linger on afterwards to a long finish. An opulent brandy trying to keep a low profile.

Memorial is one of the best Cognacs I have ever tried. Got to taste it by chance at Paris restaurant and immediately ordered 2 bottles. It has all the usual Cognac flavours but with added tar, tobacco notes that are to die for. Balance of lingering tastes is superb. This spirit was designed there is no lucky accident here. Simply sublime Cognac. My hat is off to the producer for extraordinary accomplishment. On a side note, stop calling Cognac a brandy, it shows arrogance and ignorance. Word brandy has no meaning, there are names for things like Armagnac, Grappa, Apple brandy, Cognac, so stop this British arrogance and call spirits by their proper names.
