A floral, pastry rich Champagne, Pol Roger Brut Réserve is blended from 30 wines from different vineyards and vintages. The result is a classic style of Champagne which pairs spectacularly with seafood dishes - the producers recommend wild brown trout if you can get your hands on some (they're rather slippery).
Nose: Ripe pear, green apple and spring blossom. Subtle vanilla elements start to sneak in after a moment or two.
Palate: Fresh, crumbly biscuits with a drizzle of honey. Stone fruit develops, particularly white peach. Quite fine bubbles, very charming indeed.
Finish: Refreshing and balanced.

This is indeed a very floral champagne. Lots of fruit and pastry and a bit of a nutty flavour. A great non vintage for whenever you want a little bubble. I might even have it with my breakfast. Lovely stuff. Cm
