User Reviews of the Asbach Uralt

One of the finest I have tasted and enjoyed occasionally.

Only Brandy I drink.

I started drinking this after my father told me to try it. Luckily my local liquor store carries it and I was able to get a bottle for about $29. It has a very strong distinct fruity caramel nose and a silky smooth mouthfeel. I've not been able to find a better brandy.

I am not a Brandy drinker, but after visiting the distillery in Rüdesheim I bought the Brandy. It is unbelievably smooth and so far I have had it neat, with a mixer and in coffee. I am now looking to order more.

Asbach Uralt, 08.08 on bottle

We were gifted a bottle of the 'cheap' stuff. It was really lovely. I don't like brandy as a rule, but this was 'top hole'for me! I just worked out its age and it was in fact older than 3years, more like eight. I don't have 'cheap' taste buds!

You Need To Taste The Better Stuff

My bad - forgot to add a star rating!! Five stars for the 15 and 21 y/o brands. 3 to 4 star for the "cheap" stuff.

You Need To Taste The Better Stuff

Asbach Uralt, the 3 y/o stuff that is exported, is adequate. You should, however, taste the 15 y/o and the 21 y/o labels that are only available in Germany. There is a huge difference between them. I've been drinking the various ages for years, and while the exported label is OK, the 15 y/o is superb in comparison, and the 21 y/o is positively magnificent! Just returned from a trip to Germany, and I brought back as many bottles of the good stuff as I could!!

Not a fan

Tried it for the first time after a wine tasting along the Rhine River, very popular over here in germany, but its just bitter and cheap tasting, probably the worst brandy i've tasted. fine for mixing

Asbach is probably one of the best brandies I have had.

Perhaps lesser known, it is well worth a try, and knocks spots of many of the French ones.
