That\u2019s 20 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whisky\/\">whiskies<\/a> for your enjoyment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These releases stood out in 2025 for getting it right, whether through originality, execution, storytelling, or just being outrageously drinkable. We\u2019re sure you\u2019ll agree, it was a seismic moment in whisky. Other bottles may have a history or a big name. This one has Diana, the Springer Spaniel. Eat your heart out, Glen-whatever. Best of all, what\u2019s in the bottle rocks too. In this case, a refill hogshead of underappreciated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/distilleries\/balmenach-whisky-distillery\/\">Balmenach single malt<\/a>. It delivers buttery shortbread, chocolate malt, and warming sweet spice. Oh, and every purchase sold supports <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.battersea.org.uk\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Battersea Dogs &amp; Cats Home<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dogstrust.org.uk\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dogs Trust<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which is frankly excellent behaviour all round.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[product]sku_142358[\/product]<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/scapa\/scapa-16-year-old-whisky\/\"><b>Scapa 16 Year Old<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/distilleries\/scapa-whisky-distillery\/\">Scapa<\/a> made a statement with its core range refresh. Matured in American oak, this 16-year-old balances ripe orchard fruit with creamy vanilla and soft mulled spice. It showcases Orkney elegance in a very handsome bottle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[product]sku_143987[\/product]<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/white-peak-distillery\/wire-works-amarone-2025-release-whisky\/\"><b>Wire Works Amarone Wine (2025 Release)<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/distilleries\/white-peak-distillery\/\">White Peak\u2019s<\/a> lightly peated spirit goes deep as bourbon-led maturation follows a first-fill Amarone finish. Bottled at a muscular 53.6% ABV, this 2025 release layers dark red fruit, cocoa, and winey richness onto a gently smoky backbone. Simply put, White Peak is one of England\u2019s finest, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/post\/the-making-of-wire-works-whisky.aspx\/\">we reckon it has a bright future<\/a>. Guess the wires really work. Get it? Nevermind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[product]sku_142752[\/product]<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/glen-scotia\/glen-scotia-12-year-old-whisky\/\"><b>Glen Scotia 12 Year Old<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It must be pretty cool to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/distilleries\/glen-scotia-whisky-distillery\/\">Glen Scotia<\/a>. You\u2019re the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/region-style\/campbeltown\/single-malt-whisky\/\">Campbeltown<\/a> stalwart that is actually affordable and available (no shade, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/distilleries\/springbank-whisky-distillery\/\">Springbank<\/a>, it\u2019s just the way it is), and you can throw out a top new permanent fixture like it\u2019s nothing. This year, we welcomed Glen Scotia 12 Year Old to the fold, a single malt from first-fill bourbon casks sitting pretty at 46% ABV, natural colour, and non-chill filtered. Packs plenty of Campbeltown character with fresh fruit, salt air, and warming spice. The new packaging looks sharp, too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[product]sku_141979[\/product]<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/master-of-malt\/a-secret-islay-distillery-31-year-old-1990-master-of-malt-whisky\/\"><b>A Secret Islay Distillery 31 Year Old 1990 (Master of Malt)<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thirty-one years in an oloroso octave is not subtle, and this whisky makes no attempt to be. Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2022, just 186 bottles emerged, packed with cinder toffee, roasted coffee, and bonfire smoke. This is old Islay in a Don Draper tuxedo. And yeah, it\u2019s us, but you taste this and tell us we\u2019re wrong. Honourable shout out to this <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/tobermory\/tobermory-29-year-old-1996-single-cask-master-of-malt-whisky\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ridiculously good Tobermory<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/author\/dave-worthington\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dave<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reckons is the best he\u2019s had from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/distilleries\/tobermory-whisky-distillery\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the distillery<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[product]sku_144197[\/product]<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/nikka\/nikka-from-the-barrel-extra-marriage-whisky\/\"><b>Nikka From The Barrel Extra Marriage<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A 40th anniversary tribute that is worthy of the name. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/country-style\/scotch\/grain-whisky\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grain whisky<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Coffey stills meets <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/distilleries\/yoichi-whisky-distillery\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yoichi<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/distilleries\/miyagikyo-distillery\/#\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miyagikyo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> malts, with a marriage period twice as long as the original. Presented in that beloved squat bottle with a fresh silver label, Nikka From The Barrel Extra Marriage is deeper and richer than <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/nikka\/nikka-whisky-from-the-barrel-whisky\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">its famous predecessor<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[product]sku_143203[\/product]<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/thomson\/thomson-south-island-peat-whisky\/\"><b>Thomson South Island Peat<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thomson South Island Peat is a fresh, herbal take on smoke using 100% New Zealand barley and South Island peat. Matured in bourbon casks, it balances maritime notes, gentle sweetness, and earthy smoke. Finished in Islay whisky casks and bottled at 48%, this outlier combines spicy grain character, charred oak, and maritime smoke. Field-to-bottle credentials seal the deal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[product]sku_143654[\/product]<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/bivrost\/bivrost-heimdallr-whisky\/\"><b>Bivrost Heimdallr<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/distilleries\/bivrost\/\">the world\u2019s northernmost distillery<\/a> comes a Norwegian whisky boasting heritage barley, Kveik yeast, and Arctic maturation. Rye and Amontillado casks, too, bringing nutty sweetness, spice, and coastal freshness. Heimdallr is the first in the \u00c6sir series, and we look forward to seeing what comes next.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[product]sku_144623[\/product]<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/east-london-liquor-company\/east-london-liquor-company-threads-blended-malt-whisky\/\"><b>East London Liquor Company Threads Blended Malt<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/distilleries\/east-london-liquor-company-distillery\/\">East London Liquor Company\u2019s<\/a> new path starts with a complex blend built by Sam Garbutt with John Glaser. It combines ELLC\u2019s own peated, unpeated, and rye spirits with Loch Lomond single malt.
