I haven\u2019t seen <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Crown,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> but I gather I don\u2019t need to explain that to anyone who has. Regardless, I\u2019m not here to judge. In fact, the opposite. It seems Princess Margaret was what I would call \u201ca good pint\u201d. She famously started her mornings with a splash of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/country\/scotch-whisky\/\">Scotch<\/a> and a cigarette (turns out royal hangovers aren\u2019t any different from regular ones\u2026 no? Just me?). Her drink of choice was a whisky and soda served before noon, thank you very much. The tabloids called her outrageous. The moustachioed movie star was cool in that effortless way that infuriates all of us try-hards, which extends to his love of whisky. He travelled with a suitcase stocked with essentials: tuxedos, witty anecdotes, and a bottle of the good stuff. Proper stuff. Over the years he had ties to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/ballantines-finest-whisky\/\">Ballantine&#8217;s<\/a>, Passport&#8230; He even once claimed the key to life was \u201ca sense of humour and a good single malt.\u201d Wise words.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Seven Jars Distillery\" width=\"770\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OtEt4gVCr7o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><b>Ava Gardner<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ava Gardner was less a movie star and more a force of nature in a fine cocktail dress. On-screen, she stole hearts. Off-screen, she drank whisky, swore like a sailor, and lived entirely on her own terms. Or should I say, off-screen, she stole hearts. Gardner once declared, \u201cI like to drink, and I like to dance. And if I want to do those things at the same time, who the hell\u2019s going to stop me?\u201d She even had a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/country-style\/american\/bourbon-whiskey\/\">bourbon<\/a> named after her a few years ago, produced by Seven Jars Distillery in partnership with the Ava Gardner Trust. <\/span>&#8220;I wish to live to 150 years old, but when I die, I wish it to be with a cigarette in one hand and a glass of whiskey in the other,&#8221; was another one of her gems.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Nick Offerman &amp; Lagavulin Present: Dad Does It Better\" width=\"770\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/033kazKMKbs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><b>Nick Offerman<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nick Offerman isn\u2019t just Ron Swanson \u2013 though, let\u2019s be honest, Ron Swanson is Nick Offerman with the volume turned slightly down. The actor doesn\u2019t just play a whisky lover. He is one. Swanson character traits, such as woodworking (the shop filmed in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parks and Recreation<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> actually belongs to the actor), playing the saxophone, and drinking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/distilleries\/lagavulin-whisky-distillery\/\">Lagavulin whisky<\/a>, were all inspired by the actor himself. Since the show ended, Offerman\u2019s partnership with Lagavulin has produced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/lagavulin\/lagavulin-11-year-old-offerman-edition-charred-oak-cask-whisky\/\">actual whiskies bearing his name<\/a> and they\u2019re pretty damn good. The Rolling Stones legend is almost as famous for his liver as he is his licks, and for decades, his constant tour companion was a bottle of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/jack-daniels-tennessee-whiskey\/\">Jack Daniel\u2019s<\/a>. He was also known to enjoy a swig of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/whiskies\/rebel-yell\/rebel-100-kentucky-straight-bourbon-whiskey\/\">Rebel Yell<\/a>, and drinking with Billy Idol inspired the latter to write the song of the same name. Over the years, Richards has contributed more to the whisky\u2019s music cred mojo than arguably anyone (Sinatra aside, perhaps?). To this day, the man remains a symbol of rock \u2018n\u2019 roll resilience.
