Also, as it&#8217;s probably one of the least sweet sours you&#8217;ll come across, it can still legitimately be called an aperitif.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Espresso_Martini\/Next-Week-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Espresso_Martini\/Next-Week.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails Aviation ingredients\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>You\u2019ll be needing these&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>List of Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">50ml <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/gin\/filliers\/filliers-dry-gin-28-gin\/\" target=\"_blank\">Filliers Dry Gin 28<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">10ml <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/liqueurs\/luxardo-maraschino-liqueur\/\" target=\"_blank\">Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">10ml Fresh Lemon Juice<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">5ml <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/liqueurs\/benoit-serres\/benoit-serres-liqueur-a-la-violette-liqueur\/\" target=\"_blank\">Benoit Serres Liqueur \u00e0 la Violette<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So, you know the drill (even if I keep forgetting it at the start of my tweets) \u2013 put a Coupette glass in the freezer to chill.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Freezer-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Freezer.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails The Aviation freezer\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we&#8217;re going to take 50ml of the superb <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/gin\/filliers\/filliers-dry-gin-28-gin\/\" target=\"_blank\">Filliers Dry Gin 28<\/a> to start with.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Filliers-Dry-Gin-28-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Filliers-Dry-Gin-28.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails The Aviation Filliers Dry Gin 28\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Into a cocktail shaker with it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Shaker-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Shaker.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails The Aviation shaker\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Closely followed by 10ml of fresh lemon juice.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Lemon-juice-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Lemon-juice.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails The Aviation lemon juice\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then 10ml <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/liqueurs\/luxardo-maraschino-liqueur\/\" target=\"_blank\">Luxardo Maraschino<\/a>. Some recipes advise 5ml, but this makes it too tart for my taste.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Luxardo-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Luxardo.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails The Aviation Luxardo Maraschino liqueur\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is what the mixture will look like now:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Mixture-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Mixture.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails The Aviation mixture\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Remember that, as the addition of &#8216;enough but not too much&#8217; Creme de Violette is important. Talking of which \u2013 this is the one we&#8217;re using: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/liqueurs\/benoit-serres\/benoit-serres-liqueur-a-la-violette-liqueur\/\" target=\"_blank\">Benoit Serres<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Violette-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Violette.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails The Aviation Benoit Serres Creme a la Violette\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve tried most of the UK-available ones, and this is by far the best in my honest opinion. We&#8217;re going for 5ml of this please.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Measure-violette-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Measure-violette.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails The Aviation measure violette\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is what the drink looks like after the addition of the Violette:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Mixture-violette-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Mixture-violette.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails The Aviation mixture after Violette\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you can see, the tint should be extremely light. Don&#8217;t get me wrong, this *<strong>is<\/strong>* a blue drink, but only just.<\/p>\n<p>Now pack the shaker with ice, and give it a light shake until it frosts up.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Ice-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Ice.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails The Aviation ice\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Finally, double-strain the drink into your pre-chilled Coupette Glass.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Strain-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"polaroid\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.masterofmalt.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/MoC-Aviation\/Strain.jpg\" alt=\"Master of Cocktails The Aviation strain\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There we have it. The Aviation.
