Adore Irish whiskey? Fancy blending your very own expression? Then ready the nosing glass. You (and a lucky plus one!) could be about to nab a VIP trip to the home of Irish whiskey bonder J.J. Corry, to create your very own bottling with founder Louise McGuane!
Multi-award-winning J.J. Corry has quickly made a name for itself as a purveyor of incredible Irish whiskeys. From The Gael, the brand’s first expression, to The Chosen, a record-breaking, eye-widening wonder, the whisky bonder has brought back to life a traditional way of sourcing Irish whiskey casks – and spirit – to blend together to create distinct and highly delicious bottlings. Founder Louise McGuane kicked things off in 2016, and now you can follow in her footsteps, travelling to the family farm, sampling from the extraordinary range of casks, to create your very own blend! It seems a fitting way to mark St. Patrick’s Day.
So, what exactly is up for grabs? We’ve got UK travel to the J.J. Corry Farm in County Clare, Ireland, for two people. We’ll put you up, too! The Doonbeg Hotel will be your home for the night, situated close to the dramatic coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way (don’t worry, breakfast is included). The pair of you will then travel to the farm, blend your very own bespoke Irish whiskey alongside Louise, and walk away with two bottles of your very own exclusive blend!
How do I nab the trip, we hear you cry!
Simples! Snap up a bottle from the J.J. Corry range, and we’ll automagically enter you into the draw for the chance to win the trip*. Seems sensible, St. Patrick’s Day is on the horizon after all, and you’ll want something tasty. Eligible bottles include The Battalion, The Flintlock, and of course The Gael, Batch 1 and Batch 2. And you’ve got from now until 23:59 on Thursday 19 March to enter!
Yes, folks! Earlier this year we hightailed it over to The J.J. Corry farm ourselves to spend time with Louise and the team, and craft something we’re rather proud of. Meet Master of Malt exclusive, The Sonas!
Translating as ‘happiness’ in Irish Gaelic, The Sonas is a silken, sumptuously soft vatting of single malt distilled in 2006, and a surprisingly velvety three year old single grain. There’s oodles of orchard fruit and lashings of vanilla – and it’s sure to be in our tasting glass this St. Patrick’s Day.

The most fun thing? The blending process with Louise! We nosed and tasted from an array of different casks, put together a blend, tweaked it, and proofed it down, all under her watchful eye. And we are delighted with the result! We’re thrilled The Sonas is part of the competition line-up – whether or not you win the trip, you’ll be winning this St. Patrick’s Day!
