We’ve teamed up with Island single malt Scotch whisky Talisker to channel the spirit of adventure – with one lucky winner (and an even luckier plus-one) set to nab a two-night trip to Skye to discover the iconic distillery!

Perched on the shores of Loch Harport with dramatic sea and mountain views, Talisker is one of Scotland’s most picturesque distilleries. Its five stills (yes – an unusual number) were first fired up in the 1830s, and today produce a characteristically smoky, fruity, deliciously sulphuric whisky that evokes its remote, maritime environment. Made by the sea indeed.

While Skye is perhaps the most accessible of Scotland’s Hebridean islands (the road bridge makes nipping over from the mainland a cinch), the Talisker distillery remains very much off the beaten track – and therefore at the top of whisky bucket lists. If you’re one of those with a penchant for peat and an adventurous spirit, you could be in luck – we have a trip for two to give away, and it could be your name on the tickets!

A Talisker trip like no other

This is no slap-dash distillery tour. The team at Talisker will pull out all the stops to make sure the winner and their (really, really good) friend have an incredible visit.

In addition to two nights B&B on Skye and the Talisker distillery tour, you’ll both be treated to personalised bottles with an extra-special bottle just for the lucky winner: a signed Talisker 30 Year Old! Awesome, right?!

Lunch and dinners are all taken care of too, including an evening with a Talisker representative, so get those burning whisky questions ready.

2017 Talisker competition terms (non-#MyTaliskerAdventure Instagram)

The competition is not open to any employees of Master of Malt (or any associated company), their family or friends. The competition is open to private individuals only.
The competition prize is a trip to the Isle of Skye for two people (the competition winner and his or her guest), to take place on or after 1 March 2018. Not all dates are available.
The prize includes return travel from any single address within the United Kingdom to a United Kingdom airport, flights to Glasgow or Edinburgh from that airport and all onward travel to Skye, for two people. Competition winners and guests based outside the United Kingdom will be responsible for all costs of travel to the United Kingdom, and for arranging that travel. En route to Skye, the competition winner and guest will have lunch at Blair Athol, with a guided tour of the venue. The prize includes two nights’ full board accommodation on Skye, with dinner one evening hosted by a member of the Talisker brand team or by a representative of the Talisker distillery, together with a tour of the distillery (with tasting), personalised Talisker bottles for both winner and guest and an additional, signed, Talisker 30 Year Old for the competition winner him or herself. On the second day, the competition winner and guest will enjoy an adventurous trip on Skye, with a range of experiences from which to choose, including a boat trip, hiking, fishing or bird watching.
The competition winner and guest may elect to extend their stay on Skye. Travel back from Skye to the relevant United Kingdom address after an extended stay will be included, but all other costs will be for the competition winner and guest. If the competition winner and guest wish to extend their stay on Skye, they must let us know when claiming their prize.
The prize does not cover the expense of travel insurance, any food or drink not specified in these terms, spending money or other personal items. Any other costs incurred in addition to those specified which are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are the responsibility of the competition winner and guest. The competition winner and guest will be responsible for ensuring that they hold all travel documents necessary to claim the prize. Any costs incurred by reason of missed flights or other prize elements will be for the competition winner and guest. Once the dates of the trip to Skye have been notified and agreed, they cannot be changed.
Subject to these terms, each person who completes the purchase of any 70cl bottle of: Talisker 10 year old; Talisker 18 year old; Talisker 25 year old; Talisker 30 year old; Talisker Skye; Talisker 2006 Amoroso Cask Finish – Distillers Edition; Talisker Gift Pack; Talisker Port Ruighe, Talisker Storm or Talisker 57 North from the Master of Malt website in accordance with Master of Malt’s normal terms of business during the period which commences at 17:00:00pm on 13 November 2017, and which expires at 23:59:59pm on 24 December 2017 (such times inclusive) (such period being the Competition Period) (such purchase being a Qualifying Purchase) shall be automatically entered into the competition. Multiple entries are permitted, encouraged even!
References in these terms to the completion of the purchase of a product shall be construed as a reference to the time at which the purchaser receives an email from Master of Malt which confirms that we have dispatched the order. Any person who cancels a Qualifying Purchase, by any method whatsoever and whether before or after dispatch, shall be disqualified. Any person whose Qualifying Purchase is not made in accordance with Master of Malt’s terms of business shall be disqualified. Any person whose Qualifying Purchase is cancelled by Master of Malt owing to factors outside of Master of Malt’s control (including import restrictions) shall be disqualified. Disqualification may take place outside of the Competition Period. Nothing in these terms shall prevent any disqualified person from making a separate Qualifying Purchase.
No purchase is necessary. Any person who sends a postcard or letter to Master of Malt, First Floor Offices, Unit 5 Chapman Way, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN2 3EF, United Kingdom (marked for the attention of the Marketing Team) casually mentioning the fact that they wish to enter the Talisker Competition 2017 and setting out their name and contact details shall be entered into the competition, provided that the postcard or letter is received prior to the expiry of the Competition Period. By entering the competition in this way, the sender confirms that he or she is eligible to do so. We do not accept any responsibility for any entries which are lost or delayed in transit, regardless of cause including, for example, as a result of any failure of any postal system of any kind. We will not accept proof of posting as proof of receipt of entry to the competition. Postcards and letters will not be returned.
Competition entrants must be 18 years old or older (and of legal age to purchase alcohol in their country of residence) in order to participate. Ineligible entries (howsoever received) and illegible entries will be discarded.
The winner will be selected at random by Master of Malt, in Master of Malt’s absolute discretion. The selection made will be final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
The name of the competition winner will be announced on the Master of Malt Blog as well as on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and G+ as soon as practicable after the end of the Competition Period. We will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available or has not claimed the prize within five days of the announcement date, we reserve the right to offer the prize to another eligible entrant. We cannot accept any responsibility if any winner is unable to take up the prize.
The prize is supplied by Diageo Great Britain Limited, and cannot be exchanged for the equivalent cash value or for other items. The prize is not negotiable or transferable (except in relation to trip extensions, as above).
In order to accept the prize, the competition winner shall be required to agree that we can use his or her name and county, state or region of residence (as applicable) when announcing the winner of the competition and for other reasonable and related promotional purposes (nothing sinister, and we won’t sell the winner’s or any other entrants’ details to anybody else – we promise). We may contact the winner for feedback in respect of the competition and/or prize and may use any feedback provided when announcing the results and promoting the competition or subsequent competitions.
We will send the name and county of the competition winner to anyone who writes within one month after the end of the Competition Period requesting details of the winner and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to the address set out below.
We reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms or any attempt to circumvent or to frustrate them we may, in our sole discretion, exclude any person from participating in the competition.
Insofar as is permitted by law, we will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate any competition winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by our negligence (or the negligence of our employees). Entrants’ statutory rights are not affected.
These terms shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

The competition prize is a 70cl bottle of Talisker 18 year old, including packaging and carriage to any address to which we can ship. See here for guidance regarding the destinations to which we can ship.
If we ship the prize to a destination outside of Great Britain, the prize may be subject to import duties and taxes which are applied when the delivery reaches that destination. There may also be administration charges imposed by foreign customs authorities or by our delivery agents. Please note that we have no control over these charges and we cannot predict their amount. The prize winner will be responsible for payment of the import duties, taxes and charges referred to in this paragraph.
Subject to these terms, each person who posts an image of themselves participating in an adventure or adventurous activity to Instagram with the hashtag #MyTaliskerAdventure during the period which commences at 17:00:00pm on 13 November 2017, and which expires at 23:59:59pm on 24 December 2017 (such times inclusive) (such period being the Competition Period) shall be entered into the competition. Multiple entries are not permitted.
Let’s be sensible, people. Any image which depicts, encourages, endorses or normalises the excessive consumption of alcohol, the consumption of alcohol by those under the age of 25, anti-social behaviour (including any criminal activity) or irresponsible drinking (including rapid drinking), which links the consumption of alcohol with popularity or other social success, bravado, technical skill, good fortune, the operation of vehicles or other machinery or therapeutic benefits, or which depicts the consumption of alcohol whilst potentially dangerous activities are being undertaken will be disqualified.
No purchase is necessary, and no payment is required to participate.
Competition entrants warrant and undertake that they own all rights (including, without limitation, intellectual property rights) in any image with which they enter the competition. As between each competition entrant and Master of Malt, Master of Malt shall own all rights (including, without limitation, intellectual property rights) in any image which is entered into the competition. Competition entrants waive all moral rights in the image to which they are or become entitled under Chapter IV of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (or any similar right or entitlement anywhere in the world).

Hiya Paul you would love the Talisker Whisky tour ! Lots of interesting facts and a perfect wee drama to finish with!
Skye is a beautiful island and if you are very lucky you may even get a wee bit of sunshine. I was there last month and we were lucky to have rain through the night and nice and dry in the daytime. I hope you enjoy your visit.

I fantastic place with fantastic whisky and fantastic views, I would love to go back and see it this time as I spent most of the holiday plugged in to several bottles of talisker 10 and can’t remember a dam thing, best trip ever
