#WhiskySanta’s Glenfarclas 40 Year Old 1976 Super Wish!

We’re into December and #WhiskySanta has chosen something pretty incredible to give away as a Super Wish – a bottle of Glenfarclas 40 Year Old 1976!

Did you have a fun-filled first weekend of December? I certainly did, because I spent it poking around the shelves at MoM Towers, searching for something thoroughly wonderful to give away as a Super Wish this week! I searched high, I searched low, I definitely didn’t leave mince pie crumbs from my lunch near the rum, and I found the perfect bottle for the Super Wish. When I laid eyes upon this bottle, I knew that everyone would love to find it under their Christmas tree – it’s a bottle of Glenfarclas 40 Year Old 1976, worth £1,150!

Released as part of the Glenfarclas Family Collector Series, this stunning expression was drawn from a selection of sherry casks that were laid down to slumber in 1976. Four decades later, the whisky was drawn from those aforementioned casks and bottled at 43.7% ABV. Only 1,500 bottles were produced, and each comes with a nifty presentation box honouring Glenfarclas sales director, George S. Grant.

Because I’m a sucker for tradition, let’s do a quick recap of what’s going on. In addition to granting your wishes for all manner of treats from the Master of Malt website each day, every week I’m also giving away one extra-special gift as a Super Wish. The Glenfarclas 40 Year Old 1976 is that Super Wish this week.

If you want to get your hands on this supremely spectacular Speyside single malt, you’ve got until Thursday to get your wish in over social media. Bumble on over to the Glenfarclas 40 Year Old 1976 page on Master of Malt, follow the links and then share your wish on Twitter or Facebook using #WhiskySanta.

Make your wishes now!

I’ve got my eyes on Instagram and G+ too if you’re wishing on there, just make sure you use the #WhiskySanta hashtag. The winner will be announced on Friday, so wish away! Now, if you’ll excuse me, the MoM chaps are making me clean up those mince pie crumbs near the rum. They knew it was me. I didn’t realise they were somewhat omniscient too…

Update: Congratulations to @Im_Andra75, whose wish for a bottle of Glenfarclas 40 Year Old 1976 was granted!

An incredible opportunity to get your hands on gin that’s usually off-limits for us mere mortals. I’m sure the taste is impeccable (esp after 40 years!) but it’s got the be the ritual of getting the gin out for family and friends that will be the biggest reward. You’ll be making sure to find the perfect time and that’s really special!

  9. My son graduated as a Ph.D this year. This bottle of Glenfarclas would be the perfect end to a wonderful year.

This would be an amazing treat. It’s been a tough year with my mother-in-law passing away suddenly in the summer, any my own parents having a tough time dealing with dementia and a stroke. My husband celebrated this 50th birthday last month and has been feeling sad his Mum wasn’t around to share it with him. This would be a beautiful gesture and so much appreciated x
