So, here’s the thing. We fucked up. We got the pricing on our recently released Bruichladdich single casks wrong. To be precise, we accidentally used the figure per litre of pure alcohol instead of the figure per litre of finished liquid in our calculations. The prices of our bottlings are always based on the cost of the liquid, and in this case the costs we used were incorrect. This blog post, for the avoidance of doubt, was written on the naughty step. We took ourselves there.
We were prompted to look into these prices more closely by a few people pointing out that they seemed a bit off, so we’d like to thank those people for being on the ball. The prices have now been rolled back to where they should have been, and obviously we’re also refunding everyone that’s already made purchases with the difference. (Those who did buy bottles will be getting a call from us very shortly.)
“Yeah, listen…”
Some people have asked whether the initial prices were down to the new glass closures. They weren’t. The new closures are shiny and innovative, but not super-expensive at all. In fact, you can buy them separately for a £1.
So there you have it. We’ve screwed up and now we’re sorting it. Apologies for all the confusion, the correct prices can be found below:
Bruichladdich 12 Year Old 2002 Bourbon Cask – Single Cask (Master of Malt) – £88.95 – 57.3% – 114 Bottles
Bruichladdich 12 Year Old 2002 Sherry Cask – Single Cask (Master of Malt) – £95.95 – 62.3% – 86 Bottles
