Our staff were tasked with telling us what spirits they have in their home bars. Here’s team MoM’s favourites.
We have a brilliant team here at Master of Malt who are all excellent at guessing how many jelly beans there are in a big jar. It’s remarkable how good they are at it. And how much time we dedicate to the art. We should probably stop putting quite so much effort into it, on reflection.
But we also know our drinks, so we decided to quiz our colleagues and find out what their favourite bottles are. The results are in, and you can see the full list on this fancy Dan page of Master of Malt faves. Here’s a quick teaser of top picks for anyone looking for a splash of inspiration, including Redbreast 12 Year Old, Courvoisier, Dos Hombres Mezcal, and Bathtub Gin.
Redbreast 12 Year Old
Who’s fave: Alex Badescu, content executive
Why it’s their fave: Life is short and there’s a lot of whisk(e)y to try, but I keep going back to Redbreast 12 Year Old. Easy drinking but by no means simple.
Bathtub Gin
Who’s fave: Kaitlyn Lloyd, partner manager lux/indie
Why it’s their fave: My favourite gin is Bathtub because of the rich and delicate taste. I love having it with tonic water and a slice of grapefruit.
Project #173 Black Cherry Rum
Who’s fave: Tristan Bush, CEO wrangler
Why it’s their fave: An absolute must have for your home bar. The Project #173 range comes at a very good price and also looks really pretty on the shelf.
Dos Hombres Mezcal
Who’s fave: Danni Coletta, marketing campaigns executive
Why it’s their fave: I love using Dos Hombres in my cocktails. A smooth, delicious mezcal. Fruity with a beautiful smoky finish, perfect for a twist on the classics!
Patrón Silver
Who’s fave: Charlotte Gorzelak, social media manager
Why it’s their fave: Patrón values sustainability and I like to drink it in a Paloma in the sun.
Courvoisier VS
Who’s fave: Ayla Toye, graphic designer
Why it’s their fave: Courvoisier evokes strong memories of relaxing by the fire at Christmas time with my mum, who introduced me to it. It’s a beautifully sweet brandy.
Grey Goose Vodka
Who’s fave: Tiphaine Robin, marketing campaigns executive.
Why it’s their fave: Grey Goose for me is the perfect vodka because it’s smooth and clean, and has a gentle hint of sweetness.
