The Project #173 range can be simply summed up, though the liquid isn’t simple at all. It’s a crowd-pleasing, smart-looking, easy-drinking selection of Caribbean rums that have been flavoured with all kinds of natural tasty things, and the range is ever-growing. Black Cherry has proven to be one of the most popular iterations, but with flavours like Smoked Chilli, Salted Caramel, and even Gingerbread, there’s really something for everyone. Project 173 Black Cherry Rum

It’s a Project #173 Black Cherry & Cola!

The name is catchy enough without knowing the meaning behind it, but it’s even cooler once you do – the boiling point of alcohol is 173.1 degrees Fahrenheit! So perhaps we should say hotter, rather than cooler. Each flavour has its own special paint swatch that’s swiped over the front, and then it’s adorned with a flake of 23 karat gold leaf for good measure. They may be good value, but they sure are fancy too.

Tasting note for Project #173 Black Cherry

Nose: Blackcurrant, cough drops, a little pinch of cinnamon, marzipan, mango, and just a waft of spring blossom.

Palate: Cherry Bakewells, brown sugar, more festive spices, a smidge of vanilla pod earthiness building, amaretti biscuits.

Finish: Softly tannic, with ripe cherry and spiced fruit compote notes.

Overall: Cherry notes galore, with a backbone of rum rounding everything out.

How to make a Cherry Cola Rum

50ml Project #173 Black Cherry

Cola

Maraschino cherry to garnish

Pour the rum over ice, top with cola, and place your Maraschino cherry on top. Simple!
