Old and rare whisky alert!
We know lots of you love getting your hands on the most incredible whisky you can find. Who among us doesn’t feel a tinge of excitement when a new Midleton Very Rare whiskey launches or we see a silent distillery’s last drops appear on a site? But we’re also all busy people and it’s not always convenient to scour the internet in search of rare whisky.
What would make that whole process a lot easier was if someone put loads of the best rare and old whisky in one place. Which, as it happens, is what Drinks by the Dram did.
Amazing old and rare whisky to order now
Presenting: The Very Old & Rare Whisky Collection.
The ultimate luxury whisky-tasting experience, The Very Old & Rare Whisky Collection includes 24 drams selected from old rare whisky bottles worth tens of thousands of pounds. Many of them are now no longer available for purchase.
The biggest names in luxury and rare whisky circles are here: Karuizawa, Port Ellen, Yamazaki, The Macallan, and more.
Each of the wax-sealed drams has its own shelf in the exquisite custom cabinet, hand-made from black oak and walnut by master craftsman Simon Jewell. There’s a drawer filled with tasting notes and a pair of our favourite Riedel glasses so you can enjoy your rare whisky in style.

The craft behind the cabinet
The beautiful receptacle for all this lovely old and rare whisky comes from a bespoke furniture maker with over 30 years of experience. The aforementioned Jewell*, who specialises in creating handcrafted boxes and exquisite artefacts, was inspired by old antique apothecary cabinets for his design. His work prioritised laying out everything inside neatly so the contents were smartly displayed and easy to see.
After refining all aspects of veneer work, jointing, and scale, Jewell chose exceptional details to complete his luxurious design. The walnut doors feature a striking tree ring pattern made from black oak, inlaid with precision, along with an engraved stainless steel panel and push-button catches for opening. Inside, the interior is lined with cream suede, and a robust leather handle sits atop for easy carrying. From the moment you press the catches to open the doors, to when you pour a dram into your glass and slide open the drawer to review the tasting notes, this creation is a beautifully hand-crafted, tactile masterpiece. I went a bit M&S advertisement there, didn’t I?
The Very Old & Rare Whisky Collection is available in very limited numbers for £9,999.95. So we thought you’d like to know about it now. Because you won’t get this chance again. Rare single malt whisky doesn’t grow on trees you know.
You can pre-order The Very Old & Rare Whisky Collection now. Shipping begins on 7 October 2024.
*How about that for a little normative determinism, a man named Jewell making precious things?
