Ah yes, it's that time of year once again when Drinks by the Dram reveal their selection of fantastic spirits-filled advent calendars!
The Entire Range is Now Available for Pre-Order here. (Estimated despatch late October.)
As well as all your favourites such as The Whisky Advent Calendar and Ginvent Calendar (from the dream team of Drinks by the Dram and Gin Foundry), which are both back for a fourth year, 2015 sees the range extended with a dedicated Bourbon Calendar plus Rum, Cognac, Armagnac, Tequila, Mezcal, Vodka, Absinthe and erm... Naga Chilli Vodka calendars (the latter getting hotter each day!)
Once upon a beginning, the folks of the world drew chalk lines on their doors to physically count down the first 24 days of December. These days that seems a rather sad thought, more reminiscent of a prisoner counting the days they've been locked up than a celebration of the festive season. Pretty miserable really. (That is, unless you're lucky enough to share a cell with comedy legend Ronnie Barker!) It was some time before some bright spark decided that using candles would be rather less bleak. I mean, candles, they're okay aren't they?
"Hip hip hooray – new product day!
All the world was heard to say,
Because they knew with certainty,
Mulled wine was ‘fixed’, eternally..."
Ah mulled wine. The most Christmassy of drinks. Head and shoulders even above Eggnog. There’s really nothing like it to warm the cockles, instil a sense of bonhomie, and usher in the festive season properly.
News just in: We've brokered a deal with Santa's top reindeer breeder to provide our elves with the fastest mode of transport in all the land. Thanks to our new herd of reindeer (and a sleigh we found in a garage) we’re able to extend our final order deadline for Christmas Eve delivery to the UK mainland until midday on Sunday 23rd December!
Call us insane if you please, but if you’re the kind of person who buys your Xmas presents when you get that flash of inspiration at the very last minute, you can still buy your gifts from us until midday this coming Sunday.
Pop over to our Christmas gift page to find those final stocking fillers or gifts for relatives you may have forgotten about (we won’t tell).
If you still need to grab wine to accompany Christmas dinner or even whisky and brandy to cap the day off with – order now to be in time for the night before Christmas.
Have a great holiday!
Whether it's gifts for your gran or a last minute pressie for your bestie, we've got you covered! The holiday season is just about upon us (duck and cover, y'all), and we know you want to avoid the mad rush. So mix yourself a hot toddy, throw an extra log on the fire, put on some Bing Crosby tunes, and let your fingers do the work by perusing our Christmas whisky and spirits gift selection. We're sure you'll find something to suit everyone in your life this Christmas, and maybe—just maybe—you'll find a way to treat yourself, too!
We've taken all the people in your life and put them into neat little categories to save you time and brain power. After all those mince pies and champers and mulled wine, how can you be expected to create a spreadsheet of potential gifts for all your friends and family? Really? Especially when the Downton Abbey Christmas Special is about to come on...More...
All November, we at MoM Towers will be giving away (that’s right, giving!) free Gin! We know you love Gin…everything from the Professor’s Bathtub Gin, to Sipsmith Gin, to Tanqueray Gin, to Hendrick’s Gin… I could go on.
We’ve teamed up with those crafty chaps at The Gin Blog to celebrate their brand-spanking new (and portable!) version of The Ginvent Calendar! Loaded from top to tail with a stable of delicious gins to keep each day in December merry and bright—the first 24 days, that is!
That’s right, Gin Lovers, it’s a Gin Advent Calendar (get it? Ginvent??) and we’re giving away a full-sized bottle version of each of the precious drams inside the 24 doors of the calendar. To win, all you have to do is enter!
At this point last year, I was hobbling around the office on a crutch (that’s not a misprint - the mean, mean Osteopath at the hospital would only give me one) following what can only be described as the least impressive injury in the history of man.
Sit back Children, and I shall tell you a tale of Christmas Past, Present and Future(1):
‘twas some nights before Christmas (alright, three months before)
And Ben was a-mixing some bitters for all
He flavoured them richly, with many a plant
And left them to marry in a cask from Glen Grant
He then added frankincense with a satisfied purr
And threw in a handful of the very best myrrh
Next up was some gold, for sparkle and glitter
then he spread the good word with a message on Twitter.
He called to us gaily, with all of his might:
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night”
That took me over 10 minutes to write so I really find it hard to believe you’ll need any more information than that. More...
